La Gomera, lost in a barranco

“Look what I found!” M told me with excitement as he showed me a little cabin in the woods. We booked it immediately. These getaways, a sort of DIY retreat into nature, have become a tradition for us: no phones, just us, the trees, nourishing food, and this time, La Gomera.

We hiked and, like kids, got mesmerized by the colors of spring and the beauty around us. M prepared soup while I read him the first pages of Cien años de soledad. We smoked a chillum and watched the clouds roll into the barranco, meditated, and dreamed about life. We simply existed together.

And in the meantime, I shot these photos.
